So I’ve been doing quite a bit of reading this year, and a lot of you are asking for book recommendations. I do have quite a particular taste in books- (YA) But maybe that’s because of what I write, and how young I act half the time. But I thought I’d give you three books I’ve recently read and enjoyed. So maybe you want to read them too?
My Heart & Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga – This book is about a girl and a boy who are complete opposites but find themselves in a unique friendship because of their one similar situation- They both want to kill themselves. What I like about this book is that the more you read it the more you find out, the more you like it and the more you connect with the characters. It was a book that I started to get sad as I headed towards the end, and thought about once it finished. It also dealt with very mature themes, and real themes that happen day to day in life.
A Flash Of Blue by Maria Farrer – This is about a girl with guilt. A year after her brother died she finds herself being drawn towards her dead brothers best friend, however this doesn’t make things simpler, in fact this is where the trouble really starts. I liked this book because the events that occurred were so unexpected. At first I was a bit skeptical to how i felt about this book, but the more I read it the more I loved it. I just wished it was longer.
- Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell – Now this book is written in the third person. Usually I don’t like reading in the third person that much, because I always thought that you couldn’t properly connect with the characters- I was wrong. This book is about Eleanor and Park, both very different to the world and different to each other. Slowly they begin falling for one another, falling in love like they have nothing but yet everything to lose. This is quite a steady book- it’s not fast paced, but I think there was something very clever behind this, because you feel like you spend so much time with the characters and you really go on this journey with them. I think Rainbow Rowell is a very clever writer and she has created a beautiful book.
Okay so that is it. I hope you liked this, and if you have any recommendations feel free to comment down below or tweet me.
