I find my hair really hard to deal with. Don’t get me wrong, I love having my hair and I feel fortunate to have so much. But styling it, brushing it, washing it, blow drying it, trying to make it do anything but frizz up is a real task for me. I was kind of naive to the fact that hair products could work. ‘I don’t style my hair, so hair products aren’t for me’ I said. So I would brush my hair, jump out the shower, and just leave it to do its thing. And then complain about it doing its thing.

Then I realised, hair products are for the benefit of your hair and life. Not to make things more complicated for you, but to make it easier. I know the name makes it pretty self explanatory but lets not forget this is Amelia we are talking about here. And even though I am still a bit all over the place with my hair, my life has changed dramatically since using a few certain products. And I am going to tell you about them right now. And even though now and then I’m still like, gah, how do I control this thing, these certain products have made my hair a LOT easier to deal with and I’m going to tell you about them right now.

John Frieda Frizz Ease polishing serum– I squirt two pumps and run this through my hair before I leave the house. It just tames it a bit, tames it like a nice friendly lion….I’m not sure if that made much sense, but you get my vibe right?

Mane’n Tail Daily Leave-In Conditioning treatment– THIS MAKES BRUSHING MY HAIR SO MUCH EASIER. That’s all I need to say.

Liz Earle Nourishing Hair Oil– This smells amazing. This I use when I fancy stepping my routine up a notch. When I’m feeling myself, you know? Making my hair a little bit more A game, a little bit more fancy, a little less Amelia and more Miss Mandeville? You know what I mean? Basically you can use this in wet or dry hair, and it just smooths it and helps it style, while also making your hair smell almost edible.

Frizz Ease Touch-up Creme– This is ideal when you are worried your hair is too oily so you don’t want to use a hair oil,  or you have a distinct style you want to keep it in.

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration– It has taken me almost two decades to realise your hair is like your skin and that you should probably look after it. And hair masks are a thing that you can use just like face masks…but wait for it…for your hair! This one is great because I keep it in the shower, pop it on after shampooing and conditioning and then leave it in while I shave, exfoliate and wash the rest of my body, then after all that it’s the perfect time to rinse it out. This is great as you can really see where it has hydrated and repaired your hair. See now I have slightly bleached hair I’ve got to look after it. Woah. I wrote a lot more for this one than I did for the others. It seems like I’m being paid for this but I’m not I promise. I got given it as a present from my friends Mum. But I’m just happy I’m looking after my hair more now, or trying to at least.  I feel like a new parent gaining a new perspective on the world, and even though I might be new to this thing, I’m trying my best. Just give us new Mums a chance okay?

  2. Thanks for the product advice! I've been struggling to find stuff that works properly for so long now. I've had long hair for two years and I was just about done with it! Maybe I'll find some love for it again now? I used to be of the belief that hair products were not for me too, but I soon changed my mind on that one. I know your hair is long right now, but have you thought about cutting it shorter at all? x

  5. The main purpose of hair care tonics is to keep the hair neat and hold it in its desired style. It is also used as a lubricant especially if you have a scalp that is very dry which helps in preventing dandruffs, split ends and broken hair. Hair care
